Checked - Grading Website
PROJECT: Teachers need a website to be able to add grades quickly and message their students with progress updates and assignments.
DURATION: May 2022 - June 2022
ROLE: UX Researcher, Usability Tester, UX Designer
CONTRIBUTION: Research, Competitive Audit, Wireframing, Prototyping, Testing
THE PROBLEM: Teachers need a fast and efficient way to enter grades into an online platform so that they can keep students up to date and save time.
THE GOAL: Create a website/app that teachers and students can access their grades and assignments easily.
Time is precious to most users, they want to get their tasks done and move on to the next. For teachers, this couldn’t be more true. They have a lot on their plates and adding grades and keeping up with students is a top priority but not one that should take up all their time outside of the classroom. So I wanted to focus on how to make this site the most effective I could so it can take a bit of stress off of our teachers.

PAPER WIREFRAMES
The placement of the login boxes in the hero images would allow users to login in faster and not have to search for this feature.
Played with the option of having a hamburger menu on the website but ultimately decided against it as it might be confusing. We have the space with a desktop version to list out the menu clearly.
For the mobile version, we wanted to keep the same idea of the login in menu being front and center on the hero image for continuity.
DIGITAL WIREFRAMES
The main features of this site have to functions, the outside (public view) had to have all the info about how the product will work for the users and the inside (account view) is how the grade book actually functions. So we were designing 2 sites within one.
We also wanted the mobile versions to have the same functionality as the full site since both parents, students and teachers will be accessing this on the go.
It was important that it had the same look and feel so that the ease of use was the same no matter which device you used. The less stress for all the users the better.
