Logo Design

This brand new Salon is founded by a wife and husband duo with a strong vision and great dedication to what they love. They commissioned be to create a logo design that represented not only their salon but their fun and professional personality.

They wanted the R and S as the main design but also wanted to add some flare. We eventually came up with adding the scissors to the design so that you knew the RS was a hair salon.

These are a few of the starting sketches:

Early Concepts

Final Logo Design

The final design is a nice blend of all the concepts with the addition of the reflective element in the scissor blade. This subtle change was one that made a big impact.

The scissor handle is modeled after the salon owner’s favorite pair that she uses on the daily basis. It also fit perfectly in the R. Once everything came together we all agreed this was the one!

Website Design

This custom built salon is full of elegance and style, this is the main concept behind the design of their website.

We wanted to capture all the personality that is packed in the walls of this amazing space. With a full staff of talented stylist, this was not hard to bring to life on their website.

Color Palette and Inspiration

Early on the color palette was going to feature more teals and blacks (as you can see in some of the logo concepts) but once construction began on their building, the owners fell in love with the Copper paneling on the outside and wanted to feature that as their branding colors.

The lighting inside the salon also has a warm copper tone to them so this is something that I wanted to capture in the photography for the website as well.

Once I had all the photos taken, I started to pull the color palette directly from the photos so that we would have the best match we could achieve.

We then brought that color palette into other promotional items, like the logo, business cards and flyers.

The contrast of the copper and black was something fresh and new that we didn’t see with a lot of their competitors, a fun and refreshing surprise.
